About

Velocity is a London-based stablecoin treasury and settlement platform built for enterprises, payment providers, fintechs, and financial institutions that want to modernise how they move and hold money across borders. The platform combines stablecoin infrastructure with local banking rails, compliance, custody, liquidity management, and settlement orchestration, so treasury teams can reduce settlement times, eliminate prefunding requirements, and move capital more efficiently without ripping out their existing operations. This launch marks Velocity's $38 million Series A, led by Dragonfly and FirstMark, with other investors including Activant Capital, Capital One Ventures, QED Investors, Coinbase Ventures, Wintermute Ventures and Ripple. Velocity states that it has now raised "nearly $50 million" since coming to market in May 2025 , and the round brings together backers from digital assets, enterprise software, payments, and traditional finance, a mix that reflects who the product is aimed at. Velocity was founded in 2025 by CEO Eric Queathem , and the company has been explicit that it targets Chief Financial Officers and treasury teams rather than crypto-native users . The timing matters because stablecoin rails are moving from speculative use into corporate back-office plumbing, and Velocity is positioning itself as the connective layer that lets a global CFO route payments over bank rails or blockchain networks without changing how the finance function actually works.

Tagline reads like every treasury deck since 2019. Try 'Move money like it's 2030' or just 'Treasury, unclogged'. Free of charge.

Cool cool but where are the docs. Give me a sandbox key and a webhook signing secret and I'll tell you if I'm impressed.

The launch tweet just trails off mid sentence with 'new participation from' and then nothing. Bold strategy, leaving the investors as a cliffhanger.

The bio being a shortened t.co link to your own domain is a choice. Bro is gatekeeping his own company name.

Been telling my LPs about Velocity for months, feels great to finally see the round announced. Treasury infra is where the next decade of fintech gets built.

Every fintech is 'next-gen' until you hit a Friday 4pm ACH cutoff. Show me the reliability numbers, not the logo wall.

Contrarian take: enterprise treasury is a shrinking pie because every CFO already has fifteen tools they hate and won't add a sixteenth. Prove me wrong.

Genuine question from someone new to this space, what exactly separates 'payments and treasury' from just... a bank? Not trolling, actually curious.

One more thing for the roadmap: multi-entity FX netting with a visual approval graph. You'll thank me at Series B.

Building something adjacent, three weeks out from launch (as always). Would love to compare notes on how you handled the ledger primitive.
