About

Tenor is a platform that turns every employee into the manager of a small team of AI workers, giving each agent a defined job, a budget, guardrails, and a review trail instead of treating AI as another software seat. It's aimed at operators and leadership at companies that are already spending heavily on copilots, agents, and tokens but cannot answer what any of it actually shipped. The launch lands as part of Y Combinator's S26 batch, at a moment when boards are pressing on AI ROI and asking why headcount plans and org charts still look untouched. Each Tenor worker comes with its own computer and access to over 3,000 integrations, so a manager can describe an outcome and let the worker build and adjust the underlying workflow. Jobs can run on a trigger, on a schedule, or on demand, and every step remains configurable, so corrections stick and the worker learns which exceptions are allowed and which limits it should not cross. A memory system carries context across tasks, which the team frames as the gap between a tool you keep reconfiguring and a colleague who gets better in the role. The result is a view of AI spend tied to specific work, showing what each worker owns, what it delivered, where a human intervened, and what it cost per outcome rather than per seat or token. Tenor is built by Hamze Al-Zamkan, Muhtasham Oblokulov, and Amgad Al-Zamkan, an ICML-published team from Stanford, UC Berkeley, and TUM , working out of San Francisco.
