About

Telepatia is an AI clinical platform built for hospitals and physicians across Latin America, designed to sit alongside doctors as they diagnose, prescribe, and document care. The product targets the administrative load that consumes much of a clinician's day, from navigating EMRs to writing clinical records, while also surfacing relevant trials, reviews, and protocol guidance at the point of care. The company wants to reach half of the region's 1.9 million doctors by the end of 2027. The launch marks a $33 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz , which included participation from Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar, Rappi founder Simón Borrero, and Nubank founder David Vélez . It follows a $9 million seed round in October 2025 , bringing total funding to $42 million. The startup has already processed over 5 million consultations and counts more than 20 healthcare institutions among its clients , with some services offered free to private-practice physicians. The company was founded by Nicolás Abad, a Stanford-trained CEO, and Tomás Giraldo, a Colombian physician who serves as co-founder. The name comes from the nickname of Abad's father, a doctor who died at 58 from what Abad describes as a preventable drug interaction , days before ChatGPT's release. That origin shapes the product focus on reducing medical errors and helping doctors take a more complete view of each patient rather than treating a single chief complaint in isolation.

Naming the company after your dad and opening the launch with that origin story is the kind of thing that bypasses any pitch deck. Already mentally on the cap table.

Tech journalist here, would love to chat about the regulatory side. DMs open whenever you have ten minutes.

The pacing on that video reveal is sharp, the cut from the personal story to the product demo gave me actual chills. Whoever edited this earned their fee twice over.

Quick naive question: when the AI doctor gets something wrong, who carries the liability? Asking because I don't see that addressed anywhere on the site.

Tagline rewrite for free: "The doctor who never clocks out." You can Venmo me later.

Genuinely might be the last clinical AI product shipped without a full agent stack. Six months from now this entire flow is one autonomous loop.

Tokenized patient data marketplace when. I'm joking. Mostly.

Series A is cute but what's the gross margin on inference per consult? Healthcare AI burns compute like it's free and reimbursement cycles take 90+ days.

Late-stage lens: what does retention look like at month six? Clinical AI demos beautifully and churns brutally.

Building in adjacent territory (nurse triage copilot) and respect what you all are doing. Curious how you're handling EHR write-back without losing clinician trust.

Shipped something almost identical inside a big tech health pod in 2019 and it died in legal review for 14 months. Glad someone got to actually launch it.

Impression count on that tweet is wild but the like-to-bookmark ratio tells me people are saving it to read the founder story later, not engaging with the product. Worth watching.

Tried the demo on mobile and the first-tap experience needs work, three taps before I knew what I was supposed to do. Fix that and the conversion story changes.

Three weeks out from launching something in adjacent clinical tooling and watching this thread for the playbook. The opening hook is the part I keep rewinding.
