About

Soren is building private AI infrastructure for teams in regulated industries, making it possible for organizations to adopt modern AI without trading away data privacy or security. The product is aimed at finance, legal, healthcare, and government institutions where sending sensitive data to a third-party model vendor is not an option, and it works by keeping models, data, and infrastructure inside environments the customer already controls, including their cloud tenant, VPC, or on-premise . Engagements are designed against frameworks like HIPAA, SOC 2, GLBA, and ISO 27001, with a typical first production deployment running three to six weeks before expanding to additional workflows. The company is led by founder and CEO Kevin Xie, who studied AI and math at MIT before leaving at 19, published research with Harvard, released a large LLM benchmark, and worked on failure modes in chain-of-thought reasoning . Soren is part of Y Combinator's Fall 2025 batch and is based in San Francisco. The launch lands at a moment when general-purpose AI tools have moved quickly into knowledge work but stalled inside compliance-heavy sectors that cannot expose customer data, case files, or patient records to external training pipelines. Soren's pitch to that audience is concrete operational delivery rather than another model API, with the team handling design, deployment, and ongoing operation so buyers without a dedicated ML org can still put a custom system into production. For founders and operators in regulated verticals evaluating where private AI is finally usable, this is a directly relevant launch to track.

Finance, legal, healthcare in one launch tweet is the regulated-industry hat trick. Curious which one Soren actually wins first instead of all three at once.

Have a former Stripe risk MLE who's been deep in regulated model deployment and is finally open to early stage. Want an intro before the seed crunch?

Yuki Tanabe4/27/2026

The tweet got cut off right at the most important word. Cliffhanger marketing or just the algorithm being cruel to you on launch day?

Mira Abramowicz4/27/2026

Before I forward this internally, where does the eval data live, who can see it, and is there a BAA on offer? Asking for every GC who will reply to your sales email.

Dario Velasco4/27/2026

Whoever edited the launch video understood that a 2 second hold on the logo is a vibe and 4 seconds is a screensaver. Nice restraint.

Søren Halvorsen4/27/2026

Genuinely fine wordmark but the O is doing slightly too much, it's reading as a target reticle. Tighten the counter and you're set.

Ryan Okafor4/27/2026

Hot take: the eval tooling market is quietly compressing into the model labs and nobody wants to admit it. Rooting for you to prove me wrong.

Priya Raghavan4/27/2026

We had an internal version of this at Meta around 2019 and the lesson was that the eval rubric is the actual product, not the dashboard. Curious how you're handling rubric drift.

Tomas Lindqvist4/27/2026

First 7 seconds of the launch vid had no human face and no stakes. You'd probably double watch-through with a single founder talking-head cold open.

Zeynep Kaya4/27/2026

ok wait, AI your business can trust is the cleanest tagline I've seen out of a YC F25 batch so far. Don't let a brand consultant talk you out of it in six months.

Kofi Mensah4/27/2026

This might genuinely be the last serious eval product launched before everyone has to pretend their evals are also agents. Enjoy the calm.

Engagement on this thread looks healthy but the impression-to-reply ratio screams lurking enterprise buyers. Check who's quote-tweeting from a burner, that's your pipeline.
