About

Rork is an AI platform designed to build and launch mobile apps for the App Store using natural language , aimed at solo founders and non-engineers who want to ship to the App Store and Google Play without learning Xcode. The platform turns plain-language prompts into fully functional iOS and Android apps built on Swift, React Native, and Expo, real native apps that can be submitted directly to the App Store and Google Play. The pitch is that you describe the app you want, test it on a phone, and publish, with the underlying code being something you could hand to a real mobile engineer rather than a web wrapper. This launch marks the company's $15M seed round, with the funds earmarked for expanding the product and team. The round was led by Left Lane Capital, with participation from Peak XV, True Ventures, Goodwater, and existing investor a16z Speedrun. The company is positioning itself at the center of a growing shift toward AI-powered software development. Around the raise, the team also expanded its native iOS capabilities through acquisition. Shortly after raising its Seed round, Rork acquired Paperline, a macOS app that builds native Swift applications with AI, founded by senior iOS and full-stack engineers Evgenii Mozharovskii and Maksim Konstantinov. Rork was founded by Daniel Dhawan and Levan Kvirkvelia, who have been shipping mobile apps since long before this round. Dhawan and Kvirkvelia are serial mobile app entrepreneurs who had each bootstrapped three startups before launching the company. Their previous work together includes an AI-driven Next.js site generator and 21st.dev , giving the team a track record in code-generation tooling before turning to native mobile. The latest release, Rork Max, is positioned as a browser-based alternative to Xcode, with support for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro targets covered through the same prompt-driven workflow.

The App Store review process is going to absolutely eat the 'ship in 2 clicks' promise alive. Curious how you handle the rejection loop when Apple wants screenshots in 8 locales.

Tweet copy buries the lead. 'Since we were kids' is the hook, lead with that next time and watch the quote tweets do the work.

Deshawn Patel4/28/2026

First 10 seconds of that launch video has zero hook, just a logo fade. You have a literal 'kids shipping apps' angle and you opened with chrome.

Tagline rewrite, on the house: 'Chat an app into existence. Ship it before lunch.' Now go put it on the homepage.

Was the demo pre-recorded or are we actually watching a live Xcode build sign and upload? Because one of those numbers is way more impressive than the other.

Marisol Quintero4/28/2026

Every vibe-coded app I've opened in the last six months has the same gradient and the same onboarding screen. What's stopping the App Store from becoming a sea of Rork clones of Rork clones?

Inga Voss4/28/2026

Asking the boring question: any path to enterprise here, or is this strictly indie hacker territory? Procurement teams will want SOC2 before they let me chat an internal app into existence.

Rafa Benítez4/28/2026

Cuts in the demo reel are too tight, the viewer never gets to see a prompt actually land. Let one shot breathe for 4 seconds and the whole thing reads as real instead of sizzle.

Already told three portfolio founders to try this before bed tonight. The 'monetize' part is what separates you from the 47 other AI app builders, lean into it harder.

Yujin Min4/28/2026

If anyone on the Rork team is hiring iOS, I have a brilliant ex-Shopify candidate who literally builds toy compilers on weekends. DMs open.

Olumide Eze4/28/2026

How open is the output? If I generate an app and want to eject the Swift project to keep building manually, am I locked in or do I get the source?

Boris Szabó4/28/2026

Honestly I'll believe AI app builders when one of them ships something I'd actually keep on my home screen past day three. Talk to me in 2026.

Chioma Obiora4/28/2026

The 'making money' framing is what's going to send this. Every other builder pitches creativity, you pitched rent.
