About

Lucis is a Paris-based preventive health platform that pairs comprehensive blood biomarker testing with an AI companion called Lucy, designed for consumers who want to spot risk factors before symptoms appear. Members get a blood draw at a partner laboratory, and the platform analyses more than 110 biomarkers , returning personalized protocols covering nutrition, training, supplementation, and retesting cadence, all reviewed by an in-house medical team. The product is aimed at people frustrated by reactive care and priced out of private longevity clinics that can run into tens of thousands of euros per year. The launch matters because Lucis just closed a $20M Series A led by Singular with participation from General Catalyst and Y Combinator, arriving four months after the company's $8.5M seed in December 2025 and bringing total funding to roughly $28m . The capital will fund expansion into Spain, Germany and Italy by the end of 2026 and continued development of the AI layer that turns biomarker data into ongoing health guidance. The company positions Lucy as a longitudinal companion that learns from each test cycle, surfacing patterns across diet, sleep, training, and supplementation rather than producing one-off lab reports. Lucis was founded in 2025 by Maxime Berthelot, Baptiste Debever and Max Guérois, and went through Y Combinator's 2025 batch. The founders describe Lucis as the product they wished existed during their own searches for answers, with Baptiste having lost a close relative to a condition that could have been caught earlier and the team having spent years self-experimenting with biomarker tracking. The bet is that Europe is ready for a consumer preventive health category sitting between standard primary care and elite longevity clinics, and that an AI layer over routine blood work is the wedge.

ok wait, reframing medicine from diagnosis to prevention is the actual unlock here. Singular leading the European push makes a lot of sense too.

Building something adjacent in womens preventative health and watching this closely. Europe-first is a bold call, most of our peers chased the US first.

That opening line in the tweet is doing heavy lifting. Whoever wrote 'what if someone had looked earlier' deserves a raise out of the Series A.

Every longevity startup promises to catch things early and then ships a fancy dashboard on top of a blood panel. Curious what Lucis is actually doing differently before I get excited.

The launch video pacing is clean but the voiceover sits weirdly under the music in the second half. Mix it 2db lower and it sings.

Any plans for an API so other health apps can plug into the longitudinal data? Webhooks on new risk signals would be wild.

Counterpoint to the API ask, I want a patient-facing export before a developer platform. Let me actually own my data first.

Hot take: the real moat in preventative health isnt the AI, its convincing healthy people to keep showing up. Curious how retention looks past month 3.
