About

Lovable is launching an official Model Context Protocol server that turns its AI app builder into a set of tools any MCP-compatible client can call. Founders and operators who already live inside Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, or VS Code can now spin up a new Lovable project from a prompt, iterate on it through chat, read files and diffs, run SQL against Lovable Cloud, wire up connectors like Gmail, Notion, and Linear, and trigger a production deploy without leaving their agent. Lovable exposes itself as a Model Context Protocol server at mcp.lovable.dev, and the server exposes the same primitives Lovable runs on: projects, chat, files, connectors, databases, and deploys, as tools any agent can call. The timing is the point. Every AI IDE and assistant is racing to become an agent runtime, and Lovable is positioning itself as the deploy target that plugs into all of them at once rather than competing head-on. Authentication uses OAuth, so there are no API keys to manage , and the MCP is available on every plan , which lowers the barrier for solo builders and small teams who want to drive full-stack app generation from whichever client they already pay for. Lovable is built out of Stockholm by co-founders Anton Osika (CEO) and Fabian Hedin (CTO), with the company founded in 2023 . For founders scoping how to ship internal tools or customer-facing web apps through an agent workflow, this launch makes Lovable one of the more concrete places to point that agent, since the MCP surface covers the full loop from scaffold to deployed URL rather than just code generation.

Skipping the billboard just to write a tweet about the billboard you skipped is peak SF energy. Ship still looks clean though.

Genuine question: what happens when a non-technical user MCPs their vibe-coded todo app into Claude and it starts deleting production rows?

The MCP demo video is tight but the voiceover sounds like it was recorded in a walk-in closet. Get that man a Shure SM7B.

The billboard line hits but the launch video cuts one beat too early on the reveal. Hold that final frame for another second, let it breathe.

Tagline rewrite, no charge: "Chat it. Ship it. Plug it into anything." You can Venmo me later.

Every app becoming an MCP server by default is either genius or a security incident waiting for a Bloomberg headline. Possibly both.

Ads in SF really do just say "agents" in Helvetica now. Your tweet did the billboard's job for free.

Onboarding took me 40 seconds from landing page to a working prototype. That's the whole review.

Cool, but who's handling procurement questions when a Fortune 500 wants to MCP their internal HR portal? Asking for a very anxious friend in IT.

Two-line tweet, one screen recording, no thread. This is how you launch. Everyone else writing 14-tweet manifestos, take notes.

Bet you a coffee this is 6 people in a Stockholm apartment out-shipping a 40-person team doing the same thing.

The junior in me is confused: if every Lovable app is now an MCP, is my grandma's recipe website going to start answering questions from Claude at 3am?

Bruno D'Almeida16d ago

Curious how the margins work when every app spawned on your platform is now potentially chatting with three different LLM clients. Someone's paying for those tokens.

Anyone here hiring solutions engineers who actually understand MCP? Got a friend leaving a bigco next month, DMs open.
