About

Humalike is launching Jared IRL, an extension of its AI coworker Jared that pushes the agent beyond Slack into meetings, calls, and shared screens. The product is aimed at startup teams already running chat-based assistants who want one agent with continuous memory across written threads and live conversation, so the same Jared can read a message from last Tuesday, weigh in during stand-up, and ship a dashboard before the room clears. Behind it sits a connector layer to more than 10,000 tools, used to brainstorm, draft reports, follow-ups, and research , and per the launch video the agent will spin up an integration on the fly when one doesn't exist. The launch matters now because most "AI employee" products still sit behind a prompt box, leaving voice meetings and physical rooms disconnected from the rest of the stack. Humalike's pitch is that a coworker with consistent context across Slack, browser, terminal, and the table is closer to how teams actually operate, and a free trial is open at jared.so for teams that want to test it on real workflows rather than demos. The company is a Barcelona team building HUMA, a social layer for AI agents covering timing, interruptions, emotional awareness, and group dynamics , with sibling products including Neon, a humanlike social agent for managing online communities . Humalike is backed by Baobab Ventures , the solo GP fund launched by Carles Reina, an early backer of ElevenLabs and Revolut, focused on pre-seed and seed founders in AI, robotics and defence . The team has also published a technical report on arXiv about designing a deceptively human AI facilitator for group chats , with Martí Carmona among the makers credited on this launch.

ok wait, naming him Jared is either genius branding or a HR complaint waiting to happen. I genuinely cannot tell which yet.

the 'on every screen, in every room' line reads like a horror movie pitch. were we supposed to feel comforted by that.

to be fair, half the actual coworkers I've had felt like Potemkin villages too, so the bar is low.

the launch video pacing is solid but you buried the actual product behind 14 seconds of vibes. cut to Jared doing a thing in the first 3 seconds next time.

calling it an employee instead of an assistant is a bold framing choice. does Jared get equity or just compute credits.

hot take: the tweet copy is doing more work than most seed decks I've read this month. whoever wrote those line breaks deserves a raise.

one for the roadmap: let me mute Jared in specific rooms. I love my coworkers but not in the 2am brainstorm I'm having with myself.
