About

etn (European Technology Network) is a daily live technology show for the European startup ecosystem, hosted by Luke Knight and Ronan Chambers and streamed on X and YouTube from noon to 3pm UK time. The pair originally ran the show two days a week after launching last October, and this launch marks the move to a five-day-a-week schedule out of a new studio near Kings Cross in London. The expansion is backed by a $1.6 million seed round from Powerhouse Capital, Axel Springer SE (which owns Business Insider and Politico), LadBible, and angel investors from OpenAI and DeepMind . Knight and Chambers pitch etn as Europe's answer to TBPN, the US founder-led business talk show, arguing that the current UK media ecosystem cannot keep up with the pace of the tech scene, with London startups having raised $14.7 billion so far this year according to Dealroom . The format mixes news breakdowns with long-form guest interviews, and the founders say they want to add debates, roundtables, and a Shark Tank-style pitching segment. The show is aimed squarely at founders, investors, and operators who want a running feed of European tech news, funding rounds, and company milestones delivered live. Recent guests have included the founder of Synthesia, the CFO of Legora, the founder of Granola, and Kanishka Narayan, the UK's first AI Minister , with upcoming interviews slated with Sequoia partner George Robson and former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak . Sponsors on board at launch include Polymarket, Base, and ElevenLabs.

12-3 GMT is a bold window. You're competing with lunch, school runs, and the entire American East Coast still being asleep. Curious what the VOD strategy looks like.

The set looks like a Bloomberg terminal and a Twitch stream had a very expensive baby. I'm into it.

Watching the stream and the audio mix is genuinely better than half the podcasts I subscribe to. Whoever you hired to do sound design, keep them.

Europe's first daily live tech show is a category of one until someone else shows up. Also, your lower thirds are doing too much, calm the kerning down.

Rewriting your tagline for free: "Europe, live, at the speed of tech." You can venmo me later.

Genuinely fascinated by the bet on live over async. Are you tracking concurrent viewers or clip velocity as the north star?

Devanshu H.16d ago

Concurrent viewers is a vanity trap for daily shows. The real number is 7-day repeat viewership and whether clips outperform the live cut on X.

Would love five minutes with either host this week for a piece I'm working on. DMs open on my end, promise I won't ambush you on air.
