About

Conversion is a B2B marketing automation platform that today is launching Conversion Agents, an agent layer built directly into the product so marketers can describe a task in plain language and have it executed against their live data. The platform unifies CRM and warehouse data, including Salesforce, Snowflake, and BigQuery, into one model purpose built for marketing , then lets agents handle the operational work that fills most MOps calendars: Salesforce syncs, lead scoring, campaign builds, QA, reporting, and inbound routing. It is aimed at marketing ops teams and marketing leaders at companies replacing Marketo, Pardot, and HubSpot , with early customers including Plaid, People Data Labs, Veriforce, and GovWell . The launch matters because it reframes the agentic marketing pitch around a real system of record. Instead of bolt on copilots layered over legacy MAPs, Conversion Agents run on the same data model, approval flows, and audit trails as the rest of the platform, which is the friction point most enterprise teams hit when they try to put agents near production campaigns. The accompanying launch video leans into this with a tongue in cheek portrait of the over extended marketing operator whose nights and weekends disappear into Salesforce hygiene and event prep, framing the product as a way to push that work onto agents and keep humans on strategy. Conversion was founded by Neil Tewari and James Jiao , two former UC Berkeley students who started the company after building a homegrown marketing tool for themselves and conducting more than 150 interviews with marketing executives . The $30M figure in the launch tweet lines up with public reporting: the company has raised a total of $30 million between its seed and Series A , with a $28 million Series A in July 2025 led by Abstract Ventures and participation from HOF Capital, True Ventures, Antler, and angels from OpenAI .

ok wait, 'vibe marketing' is either the best or worst phrase I've heard this quarter and I genuinely cannot decide which.

Cool demo, but who's actually QA-ing the emails before they hit 200k inboxes? 'Agent does the work' tends to mean 'human cleans up at 11pm.'

Before I tweet 'interesting,' what does net retention look like when the agents inevitably ship a campaign someone's CMO hates? Churn risk on autonomous output is real.

The launch video pacing is tight but that voiceover sounds like it was recorded in a closet at 2am the night before. Berkeley dropout energy fully preserved.

We had a deck called Autonomous Marketing Ops at Meta in 2019 and it died in review. Curious if the agent orchestration here is actually different or just better packaged.

Love the launch but one more thing for the roadmap: let me fork an agent's run mid-execution and branch the campaign. That's the feature that would make ops people actually trust it.

Procurement is going to ask about SSO, SOC2, data residency, and whether your agents can be logged for audit. Hoping there's an enterprise page hiding somewhere on the site.

Is the demo in the video live or pre-recorded? Asking because every agentic platform I've kicked the tires on falls apart at step 4.

$30M to cut marketers' busywork from 50% to 5%. The remaining 5% is still going to be picking a Slack emoji for the campaign launch announcement.

Every automation wave promises 95% time back. The work just changes shape and finds you again.

Been watching Neil cook on this for a while, the positioning finally clicked. 'Team does strategy, agents do work' is the cleanest line in the category right now.

Building something adjacent in lifecycle land and honestly the tweet copy here is sharper than ours. Stealing the cadence, not the idea.

Is any of the agent framework open or is this fully closed platform? Docs page on the site is a little thin for something pitched at marketing teams who'll need to debug agent behavior.
