Bunkerhill Health is launching Carebricks, an agentic AI platform that lets hospitals build and deploy AI agents across clinical and operational workflows rather than buying point solutions for individual tasks. The company describes Carebricks as a way for clinical and operational teams to build AI agents that reason across data, make contextual decisions, and take action within existing systems . In practice, that spans prior authorizations, referrals, catching documentation gaps that affect revenue, and imaging review, with UTMB Health cited as an early enterprise deployment running dozens of agents on the platform. The launch is tied to a $55 million round led by Vinod Khosla at Khosla Ventures and Alfred Lin at Sequoia, alongside Y Combinator and other investors . Bunkerhill was cofounded in 2019 by Nishith Khandwala and David Eng , both previously researchers at Stanford's AIMI center working on validating medical imaging AI for clinical use. The company originally operated as a consortium working with researchers from more than 20 academic medical centers to develop and validate AI algorithms for patient use , which gives it an unusual footprint of hospital relationships to build on now that it is selling a horizontal agent platform. The timing matters because health systems have spent the last two years piloting narrow AI tools without a coherent way to operate them at scale. Bunkerhill is pitching Carebricks as the connective layer for that portfolio, letting a hospital's own clinicians and operators author agents rather than waiting on vendors, which is a bet on the same iteration speed argument the founders have made since the Stanford radiology work.
