About
ok wait, Airtable pivoting to a venture fund for agent founders is a plot twist I did not have on my bingo card. The Founding 500 branding goes hard though.
curious what the check size distribution looks like across 500 founders. that math either means tiny checks or a very long deployment window.
the launch video opens cold with no hook, you have about 1.4 seconds before people scroll. needed a face, a number, or a fleet of robots on screen by frame two.
every deck this year says 'autonomous, proactive agents' and every demo I see is a glorified cron job with a system prompt. show me one running unsupervised for a week.
10m for 500 founders and zero token? feels like a missed opportunity for an onchain agent registry but ok.
hot take: the real product here is the application form. they just turned a launch into a lead magnet for the entire agent startup ecosystem.
love the ambition but how does Airtable actually source, vet, and support 500 founders without becoming YC with extra steps. the ops behind this is the whole game.
anyone read the fine print on data handling when these agents are 'connected to your tools'? would love clarity on what crosses the Airtable boundary versus stays on customer infra.
the tweet copy is two punchy lines then a list, which is the right shape. but the thumbnail with the dollar number is doing 90% of the work here.
we shipped something internally called Agent Fleet back in 2019 and the hardest part was never the model, it was the permissions graph. wishing them luck on that part.
if any of the Founding 500 need a forward-deployed engineer who has actually shipped agent infra to enterprise, my inbox is open. have a great candidate based in Lisbon.
