About

Hyperagent is Airtable's agent platform for teams that want to hand real, multi step work to AI rather than supervise it turn by turn. Each session runs in a dedicated, VM based environment that can execute hours long autonomous workflows across enterprise data , with a real browser, shell, filesystem, image and video generation, mapping, data warehouse access, and hundreds of enterprise integrations available to every agent. Founders pitch it as a way for small teams to operate at the scope of much larger ones, and the launch video points to early adopters in insurance brokerages, real estate firms, and venture funds. This particular launch is the Founding 500, a program from Airtable CEO Howie Liu that puts $10 million in inference credits toward 500 founders building agent-first companies, with $20K per spot . The thesis behind it, as Liu frames it, is that intelligence is no longer the bottleneck and that the next wave of category leaders will be builders who restructure their companies around agents instead of bolting AI onto existing tools. Liu, who cofounded Airtable, says he has been personally burning through billions of tokens a week as a builder, and Hyperagent is the platform that came out of that work. For founders and operators skimming this, the relevance is practical. The credits are meaningful runway for anyone whose product depends on heavy agent inference, and the platform itself is aimed squarely at people who want to deploy specialist agents connected to their tools and data rather than wire together orchestration from scratch. Applications run on a fixed window, so the launch is as much a recruiting call for the first cohort as it is a product announcement.

ok wait, Airtable pivoting to a venture fund for agent founders is a plot twist I did not have on my bingo card. The Founding 500 branding goes hard though.

curious what the check size distribution looks like across 500 founders. that math either means tiny checks or a very long deployment window.

the launch video opens cold with no hook, you have about 1.4 seconds before people scroll. needed a face, a number, or a fleet of robots on screen by frame two.

every deck this year says 'autonomous, proactive agents' and every demo I see is a glorified cron job with a system prompt. show me one running unsupervised for a week.

10m for 500 founders and zero token? feels like a missed opportunity for an onchain agent registry but ok.

hot take: the real product here is the application form. they just turned a launch into a lead magnet for the entire agent startup ecosystem.

love the ambition but how does Airtable actually source, vet, and support 500 founders without becoming YC with extra steps. the ops behind this is the whole game.

anyone read the fine print on data handling when these agents are 'connected to your tools'? would love clarity on what crosses the Airtable boundary versus stays on customer infra.

the tweet copy is two punchy lines then a list, which is the right shape. but the thumbnail with the dollar number is doing 90% of the work here.

we shipped something internally called Agent Fleet back in 2019 and the hardest part was never the model, it was the permissions graph. wishing them luck on that part.

if any of the Founding 500 need a forward-deployed engineer who has actually shipped agent infra to enterprise, my inbox is open. have a great candidate based in Lisbon.
