About

Slashy is an AI-native email client for Gmail users who want their inbox handled before they open it. It connects to Gmail via OAuth, learns your writing voice through a persistent memory system, and drafts replies, triages threads, tracks opens, and manages calendar events from one interface. The pitch to founders and operators is straightforward. By 9am, the important messages are already sorted from the noise and draft replies are waiting in a tone that matches how the user actually writes. The launch matters now because AI inbox tools have flooded the market with generic auto-generated text, and Slashy is positioning itself against that pattern by grounding drafts in a memory layer that self-updates and learns automatically whenever the user edits a draft, sends an email, or archives something . A full AI-native client like Slashy replaces the inbox experience while still running on your Gmail account, and it combines drafting, triage, follow-up tracking, and calendar in one product grounded in a shared memory. There is also an agent surface for connecting external tools through MCP. Slashy is based in San Francisco and part of Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch. It was founded by Harsha Gaddipati and Dhruv Roongta , with Gaddipati serving as CEO. The product is aimed at professionals and small tech teams who spend meaningful chunks of the day inside Gmail and want the mental load of constant checking removed rather than another compose button bolted onto their existing client.

The video cuts every 0.4 seconds like it's afraid I'll notice the 9am inbox has exactly 6 emails in it. Real inboxes have 400 and three of them are from Jira.

Every email client since 2015 has promised to sound like me. I have yet to meet the AI that can replicate my passive aggression.

'Doesn't just generate AI slop' is a bold claim to put on the box. That's like a restaurant sign that says 'not food poisoning.'

Cool product but the tweet just cuts off at 'Flagged the https' which is either a bug or the most avant-garde teaser I've seen this month.

Staff eng question: is the drafting happening client-side, or are you shipping my inbox contents to a model provider every morning at 8:59? Asking for my compliance team.

Hari V.9d ago

Naive question but if it drafts replies overnight, what happens when the sender emails a follow-up before I've reviewed the first draft? Does it draft a reply to itself?

Marissa Chen9d ago

Interesting. What does retention look like after week 3 when the novelty wears off and people realize they still have to read the drafts before sending?

Superhuman shipped triage in like 2019 and Gmail's Smart Reply has been doing the sound-like-you thing forever. Curious what the actual wedge is here beyond 'but with an agent.'

The tagline 'Your intelligent inbox' is doing zero work. Try 'Inbox zero, without the hostage negotiation.' You can Venmo me later.

Any public API or webhook story? I'd pay to pipe the triage signal into Linear, but not to open another Electron app at boot.

The launch thread structure is clean but that truncated bullet at the end is going to haunt my dreams. What did it flag, Harsha. WHAT DID IT FLAG.

Recruiter hat on: I've got two designers who have PTSD from working on email UX and would love another shot. DMs open if you're building the team out.

Curious about the pricing model. Per-seat SaaS on top of an LLM cost base that scales with inbox volume sounds like a fun margin puzzle.

Waiting for the version where my agent negotiates meeting times with your agent onchain and we settle in stablecoins. Half joking.

Been building something adjacent for 8 months, launching in 3 weeks I swear. Congrats on actually shipping, that's the hard part.
