The production could have been much better; there was no hook or a good CTA

About

Granola is an AI notepad built for people in back-to-back meetings, taking notes during calls so users only need to add what's in their head . This launch wires Granola into HeyGen, the AI video platform, so a finished meeting can be turned into a narrated avatar video without leaving a chat window. The connection runs through Claude via MCP, which means a single prompt is enough to go from call notes to a finished, narrated video. The mechanics are straightforward for anyone already using Claude as a workspace. Claude calls list_meetings to locate the right call by name, date, or attendee, then get_meetings to pull the full notes, writes a video-length script from that content, then passes it to create_video_agent</cate>. <cite index="0-72,0-73,0-74">The intended workflow is to pull the latest meeting, generate a 60-second video that opens with the outcome, walks through each decision, calls out every owner by name with their task and deadline, and ends with one explicit ask, then drop it in Slack . There is also a path for multilingual recaps, chaining create_video_translation so international counterparts get the same callouts in their language with lip-sync, all from one Claude prompt. Granola was co-founded by Chris Pedregal and Sam Stephenson, working out of a Shoreditch office in London , with Pedregal previously having founded Socratic, which was acquired by Google . The launch matters now because it points at a pattern more meeting tools will likely follow, using MCP to let stakeholders who skipped the call receive a tailored video brief instead of a wall of notes, aimed squarely at the stakeholder briefing and cross-team accountability problems that founders and operators run into every week.

ok wait, so my standup notes can become an avatar telling my team what I already said in the meeting? we have achieved corporate ouroboros.

hot take: the moat here is that nobody actually wants to watch the video, they just want to forward it and look busy. perfect alignment with knowledge work.

the cut from notes to talking head in that clip is a little too clean. how much of this is live vs pre-baked for the demo?

is there an API surface for this integration or is it strictly a UI toggle inside Granola? curious about webhook support when the video render finishes.

two word tweet, one product shot, no thread of 14 bullet points. respect for trusting the work to do the talking.

I'll get excited about AI notepads when one of them learns that not every offhand comment in a meeting needs to become an action item.

curious how this is metered. HeyGen minutes are not cheap, and bundling that into a notes subscription gets ugly on margin fast unless someone is eating the difference.
